ClearHealth Update! Site Revamp!

Instructions on how to install ClearHealth 2.2 are now available in our 'Downloads' section. It is available in PDF form and provides instructions on how to install the current source package available on the ClearHealth section at SourceForge. That's it. No DEB file. Works flawlessly.

I'm also doing a bit of a site revamp to get everything organized before I add the wiki. I tried TikiWiki which is a full CMS as well as a wiki. It was very complex with all those features, so I'm going to try others like MediaWiki. I need to try ones that use databases to store their information because of the restrictive write permissions in SourceForge.net webspaces. Any suggestions, let me know. I just need something simple.

New Downloads!
I updated the downloads page. I added a medical dictionary from the OpenMedSpel team that works with OpenOffice (it was released under GPL so all should be cool) and made sure our theme packages were the correct ones.

The available downloads are listed in the menu.

Forum is Up!
Okay, the forum lives once more and it can do private messenging, topic stickies and other neat things. Sadly, the old forum's database is no longer available (because I'm a yutz who can't do a backup properly) so everyone will have to re-register.

EDIT: DELETE YOUR OLD BROWSER COOKIE FOR OUR FORUM OR YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO LOG IN!

Also, It had come to my attention that I may not be doing our RSS thingy as well as it should be so I'll be working on that too in the oncoming weeks.

Cheers!
Forum Currently Down
Just upgrading the forum software. May take a day or two to figure out because SF.net doesn't allow the webspace to write to itself so we have to configure it by hand.

Also, I made a crummy backup by accident and now everyone will have to re-register. Oh well, at least I'll know how many of you are still with us.
We now have an RSS Feed!
We now have an RSS feed located at the bottom of the page (for now). Use it to get all of LFC's updates!

Alpha2 Finally Released!
At long last, after many setbacks and a whole lot of learning the second alpha or Linux For Clinics is released! You will notice it has a much more distinct look over the first version. No practice management software comes preinstalled on alpha2 (unlike the first alpha) but you will soon be able to download and install them from this website or our repository as they are tackled next.

There are bugs (of course) that will be solved in the next release (or we will post temporary fixes on how to fix them). In the next release we will also make installation and use of practice management software a breeze :)

Oh, and please post any questions, comments or tips on how to fix/improve Alpha2 in our forum.

Cheers!

Site Re-Design
It's been a while since the last update so I'll just let you all know whats up.

I'm prepping the site for our next release which means making the code nice and neat as well as utilizing CSS. It will have the same basic theme but I'll add a few more things to help make browsing easier.

Stay tuned. The next release will be made this month (God willing).
WE ARE LIVE!!
The 'Linux For Clinics' website is now officially open for business!

With the Grand Opening of our new (and PERMANENT) website we also present to you:

  • Several Practice Management Suites available in our 'Downloads' section that you can test and critique as well as our default theme that anyone with Ubuntu installed can see :)
  • A Public Forum to make bug reports, make comments/suggestions and discuss the future of LFC

  • ...and thanks to SourceForge: INCREASED SECURITY!!

Our future second alpha will be smaller than the last and has a different set of pre-installed programs that you can read about in our 'Included Software' section. Also help us remove unnecessary packages, suggest packages that should be included or altered so we can make this a revolutionary Linux distro!
