Fix (if any)
Metacity/Compiz Ubuntu Gutsy has a bug which disables the Window Manager (Metacity) if Compiz is removed (LFC does not have Compiz installed by default). On the LiveCD, open a terminal ('Applications > Accessories > Terminal') and type:

metacity --replace

As long as the terminal window remains running, so will the window manager.

Once installed on your computer, the best fix is to install Compiz by typing:

sudo apt-get install compiz

in another terminal window or by installing it from Synaptic.

2.6.22-15 Kernel Update Can't install 2.6.22-15 kernel and remove the old 2.6.22-14 kernel. Creates a defective LiveCD where the mouse (at least) was unresponsive. Should be able to fix by updating once the system is installed. The best method is by using aptitude by running these 2 commands in a terminal window:

sudo aptitude update

sudo aptitude safe-upgrade

Usplash The LFC usplash theme doesn't appear once LFC is installed but appears on the LiveCD.

Annoying but minor issue. At least I saw what could be another bug by looking at the output the usplash would have otherwise hidden.
No fix yet. Is it a Reconstructor problem or am I missing a step when I install a new usplash? I used the same install scripts as Ubuntu used for its usplash theme so there shouldn't be a problem.
Ubiquity Ubiquity is present on an installed system when it should not. It installs Ubuntu on your system from the LiveCD and is normally not available on the installed system.

No idea why it remained.
Uninstall it yourself (it isn't needed at this point):

sudo apt-get remove --purge ubiquity ubiquity-gtk-frontend ubiquity-casper ubiquity-ubuntu-artwork
